RESPONDING TO MORIE MUSSAFFA’S DIATRIBE

AS PUBLISHED IN COCORIOKO

RESPONDING TO MORIE MUSSAFFA’S DIATRIBE
Mohamed Yongawo – London, UK.

I believe Mr. Morie Mussaffa you’ve been reading Sia Tiyama’s articles on Charles Magai’s dictatorial tendencies. Don’t even dare to tell the world you’ve not been, because you have produced (BE WARNED: SIERRA LEONE WILL BE AN OPPRESSIVE DICTATORSHIP UNDER BEREWA: with The Remote Control In Khadafi’s Hands – COCORIOKO), if I may say exactly some of the same ideas in those articles. Don’t despair, like you, I like reading Sia Tiyaama’s articles. In fact I am a fan. Like Sia Tiyaama and possible you, I dislike dictatorship. Unlike you, I do not believe Berewa if elected will become a dictator. I do not believe Sierra Leoneans will accommodate one.

I would not like to question your knowledge/ignorance of International Politics. Let me however, remind you that in recent months’, Presidents, Prime Ministers, Princes and Queens the list goes on, have all be clamouring to praise sing the changes Gadaffi has made. The latest one to do so is the French President. For various reasons beyond the scope of this piece, they have welcomed Gadaffi back to the international fold.

Sierra Leone is a subject of International Politics and therefore, I see no ill in her representatives doing business with the Leader of a country, which is a member of the United Nations and of course the African Union.

Besides, I think Mr. Mussaffa you are doing a disservice to jurisprudence, having found Gadaffi guilty before he is even arranged before a court of law. Perhaps, I need to be reminded of the basic principles of the rule of law, International Law and the Criminal Justice System in the Country where Mr. Mussaffa resides. Can a man be found guilty before his trial? Most people will agree with me that the answer is no.

Returning to the Saturday Elections, I would like to add my voice to the growing millions of Sierra Leoneans who are appealing to our country women, men and children to see these elections as A POLITICAL CARNIVAL NOT A POLITICAL VIOLENCE. I trust their judgement.
