LET COMMON SENSE PREVAIL

Dear Brothers and Sisters,

Can I please, please implore you all to hold fire - there is so much I could add to the ongoing discusses, outer insolence and innuendoes directed against some of our members but I would rather not do so now, it will only inflame the already burning fire.
Allow me though to state that I agree there is a need to debate our potential flag bearers but I believe it will do us good if we focus on their policies in regard to the betterment of our noble country and party not their personalities – leave the dirty work to our adversaries.
True or false we are already witnessing a deliberate attempt by our compatriots in the RED PARTY to hijack the 2012 election even before the whistle was blown. I believe we should be devising plans at addressing any such moves not hanging on each other’s neck at this crucial moment in our party’s history. This will leave us vulnerable to our opponents.
Importantly, as vexed as some issues may be, I do not believe there is enough time now to start digging old wounds. Once we have our flag bearer in place it will be his or her chief responsibility to engage with the issues that brought us here – these include revisiting Chief Hinga Norman and PMDC debacles etc. In addition, my sources tell me this is in progress.
It is not going to be easy, it is going to be a rough ride; contributors here have already started contesting the road map {RULES AND REGULATIONS} – this is the beauty of democracy. However, I implore any discuss in relation to our internal democracy should be measured, unprejudiced, tied with compromises and above all should be layered with common sense.
Lest I forgot we should listen to one another….as someone said “we are all in this together” and together we should battle on..
Those with the responsibility should ensure come March 2011, SLPP must present a candidate to Sierra Leone and the world that is easily marketable..
Wherever you are have a great weekend or what is left of it…

Yongawo
