It was 1941 and London was being heavily bombed. The house of Upper Wickham was the only house to be bombed in the area and it took nine years to be rebuilt.
When it was finished in 1950, the owner died in less than a week of living in the house. The police and detectives said they did not know the cause of death but when they found him he was pointing in a direction. The detectives were not sure why.
The next owner also died as the first, pointing in the same direction. And every other owner up to 1970 died pointing in the same direction.
But the last owner died by a fire which started in his house. You would think there is nothing strange about that, wouldn’t you? Well you thought wrong! For as you see the top floor of the house was burnt, and only the top. But the fire started in the kitchen.
When the house was inspected by forensic scientists, the kitchen was not in use and the kitchen had no ashes apart from the ashes that had fallen from above.
As it stands, the house of Upper Wickham is still being inspected and has just recently burnt down again.
So as you can see, scary stories are not just about ghosts and ghouls but sometimes they are about coincidence and solving a mystery.
If you don’t believe this story then maybe you should look at the coincidences and solve this mystery for yourself.
